Billy Bright and Geoff Union have been playing music together for almost 15 years. Since it is so rare that their most celebrated collaboration, Two High String Band, is able to reconvene, Billy and Geoff have taken matters into their own hands to continue down the path of the music they make so well together. Joined by upright bassist Steven Crow, their "acoustic power trio" showcases a novel all-original repetoire that melds songwriting, compostion, instrumental dexterity, and bluegrass 'drive'.
               In early 2012 Billy and Geoff completed work on a Geoff Union recording, Cold as Steel - eight original tunes performed by a five-piece bluegrass ensemble, produced by Bright and recorded in his 'Mando Cave' - which has garnered national radio and press attention. It was during the recording of these tunes that it was re-realized that, not only is there a creative spark between these two, but there is a catalog of material that is vast and exciting. The “Billy Bright and Geoff Union Trio” has been performing to excited audiences in Central Texas for the past year, and they have their sights set on the national festival circuit. With one foot in the bluegrass world and the other on a long walk, exploring uncharted musical territory, this trio is sure to expand minds and leave a lasting impression.
