The Billy Bright and Geoff Union Trio

Billy Bright and Geoff Union have been playing music together for almost 15 years. Their most celebrated collaboration, the Two High String Band, performed at festivals and concerts across the U.S.A. from 2002-2010. After going their separate musical ways for a time, Billy and Geoff teamed up again in 2012 to continue down the path of their stylistically expansive repetoire, melding songwriting, composition, instrumental dexterity, and bluegrass 'drive' into a compelling presentation of all original tunes. In the winter of 2012, the two completed work on Geoff Union’s solo CD, 'Cold as Steel'; eight original tunes performed by a five-piece bluegrass ensemble, produced by Billy and recorded in his 'Mando Cave'. The album has been aired on over 70 bluegrass stations nationwide, and has enjoyed favorable review from publications such as Bluegrass Unlimited, Bluegrass Today, and the Folk and Acoustic Music Exchange. Since then they have been performing as a trio with bassist Steven Crow, also on the recording. From the Cactus Café in Austin, to regional festivals like Rice Grass and Fire on the Strings, to the 3rd Annual John Hartford Memorial Festival at Bean Blossom, Indiana, The Billy Bright and Geoff Union Trio has been turning folks on to their exciting and original interpretation of influences such as Hartford, Grisman, Rice, Monroe, and Blake.

The Trio looks forward to completing its own new album sometime in the next year, while furthering the reach of their music on stage, online, and on the radio. Stay Tuned!
